Through special relationships with local hotels and apartment groups -- and through charitable donations -- no-cost and low-cost housing is available to you and your family during your short- or long-term stay in St. Louis.

Our lodging coordinators can explain these low-rate offers and help all visitors with lodging solutions.

    Original Ronald McDonald House
    Ronald McDonald House

The Ronald McDonald House is charity-based and offers facilites that include simple rooms within houses and apartments for families with seriously ill children who live outside a 50-mile radius of St. Louis.

One of the Ronald McDonald Houses is located close by the St. Louis Children's Hospital and offers shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. Residents are expected to help with communal cooking and cleaning. There are strict hours when residents can return in the evening to ensure a peaceful atmosphere.

A social worker must make the referral for the accommodations. It is located one and one-half kilometers from the hospital. Hospital shuttle buses stop here upon request.

    Ronald McDonald House Apartments
In May, the Ronald McDonald House expanded with the opening of eight new apartment units located adjacent to the original house near the St. Louis Children's Hospital. These apartment buildings are newly refurbished and available for long-term stays.

A social worker must make the referral for the accommodations. It is located one and one-half kilometers from the hospital.

    HavenHouse

This facility provides the comfort of home and a community of support for families that travel to St. Louis to receive medical care for their children.

HavenHouse has opened five additional second floor guest suites/rooms that are available at discounted hotel prices. Each room boasts cable television, local access telephones, refrigerators, and wireless Internet. In addition, all guests are welcome to use the first floor guest amenities.

Families can travel distances of 25 miles to 2,500 miles from home and still qualify for private rooms with baths, breakfast and dinner, plus transportation to and from the hospital.

Additional services for family members include an Internet library, gymnasium, weight room, laundry facilities, kitchens and playrooms. Support services can help families with counseling, school enrollment and faith communities.

Families are referred by a hospital care coordinator. Families are charged minimal sliding scale fees, based upon their length of stay. Visit their website at havenhousestl.org.
